Systems Engineer, Senior Level
Systems Engineer (Senior Level) – Stafford, VA
Seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong background in technical support to Command and Control acquisition programs, for our customer in Stafford, VA. Duties include:
- Develop and/or revise appropriate level acquisition engineering documentation (e.g. Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), Information Support Plan (ISP))
- Develop reports, briefs, and documentation related to programs in the portfolio
- Conduct technical assessment and evaluation of Prime Contractor deliverables, architectures, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
- Drawings review and coordination for all ECPs and vendor development programs
- Validation and readiness assessment of all program documentation required to submit ECPs for approval.
- Support Engineering Team in development of ECPs and tracking of all ECPs from development to closure.
- Develop Performance Specifications, Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM), and assist with the development of product and component level specifications
- Support development of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Information (RFIs)
- Develop Technical Review Action Plans, and participate in all aspects of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) process
- Develop ECPs and participate at Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
- Manage development and assist with the development of test strategies, procedures, and plans
- Assist in the planning, execution, and reporting of test events and operational evaluations
- Support systems safety efforts and develop the Programmatic Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and any other required documentation to support the appropriate safety releases
- Provide input to support cybersecurity efforts, monitor IA vulnerability alerts, and ensure appropriate security actions are taken
- Participate in technical and management IPTs
- Master's in Systems Engineering or other technical/scientific discipline, and 10+ years of experience or equivalent deep expertise in the domain
- USMC or other DoD systems maintenance or operational experience with Air and/or Ground Combat operations systems desired.
- Experience with SETRs and documentation is required
- Experience in developing acquisition documentation to support programs in achieving required milestones/events is required
- Ability to effectively work independently and as part of an integrated team of Government and non-Government players is required
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers is required.
- Network Design or Network certifications a plus (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP )
- DAWIA Engineering & Technical Management Practitioner certification or equivalent training in the Systems Engineering field (e.g. INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional) is strongly desired
- Must be detail-oriented and have excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent MS Office and Visio skills are required
- A proactive, self-starter with a history of demonstrating initiative
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
Salary range: $145K – $160K
